Grandfather Mountain

This past weekend, some friends and Jason and I rented a mountain cabin right outside of Boone and Blowing Rock. It was just what we needed after 3 weeks of 100+ heat in good ole Raleighwood. The cabin was on a mountain in the woods, had a great trout fishing creek in the back and a wonderufl hottub that we all took use of. It was a very nice getaway. Brayden and Jason woke up and went fishing early one morning and caught a HUGE rainbow trout! They were so excited. I took Brayden on Friday to Mast General Candy store and the Grandfather trout farm. Brayden caught soem huge fish, and Emma followed him around with the net. It was too cute! On Saturday the Griswalds all went to Grandfather Mountain. After much anticipation, EVERYONE crossed the mile high swinging bridge! We all enjoyed the wonderful veiws! We had a fabulous weekend of food, fun and relaxation!

Summertime

Well it has been a busy summer for us....every weekend is something new...Brayden has gotten to be a little fish over the summer swimming everywhere we go. He loves boogie boarding, body surfing, and standing up balancing on the boogie board. Brayden spent some vacation time at Wrightsville with Mimi and Big Daddy. Its hard to get back to reality sometimes. While he was down there, we came on the weekends. We went fishing one Saturday and caught a sea turtle. Brayden actually caught it himself and reeled it in. He just barely hooked the shell, but the turtle was really cute and reminded us of Crush from Finding Nemo. Brayden also has been working on his golf game this summer. He is making great contact with the ball and has really shaped up his form. This is a fun activity for us all, its very entertaining!

Weekend in Deltaville

Well we took some friends up to Deltaville this past weekend and we had great weather and a great time! The boys went fishing on Friday and the girls and baby John hung around and relaxed. On Saturday we went for John's first boatride! he loved it...slept most of the time, but thought it was great. Brayden had a great time entertaining John...his little buddy. Later we all swam, picked a bushel of crabs, ate and had a great time just hanging on the screen porch. There was a bit of guitar playing too! :) Its always sad to come back to reality, but it makes us appreciate our vacations that much more!
